January 19, 2005It's The Final Countdown!
Captain's Log, Stardate 1-19-2005...that's right, it's my last day in the U.S. before my trip and I am more than ready to jump on that plane to Bangkok. The last few days I have spent in Portland have been fantastic. I have some great friends in this city and it'll be good to hang out again this summer (who wants to hit up the "Sandy Spot?"). Anywho... CrossFit North's gym in Seattle was rad! I am definitely going to train there when I return from Asia. With some great coaching from Dave Werner and motivation from my pal Nic Nakis, I was able to perform a muscle-up on the gymnastics rings. Before that we had a pretty hardcore workout that had me a little light-headed after 15 rounds. Monday was "Taco Night" at the Triple Nickel over on Belmont St. If ever in Portland on a Monday night, make sure to stop by for some cheap tacos (2 for a buck!) and a game of pool. Anyway, there was a good group last Monday and it was a lot of fun. Afterward, a few of us headed over to Megan's pad and "changed my form." Yes, that's correct: I burned the crap out of my hair and scalp with checmicals for a couple hours and voila, the Golden Child was re-born. Heh, I love that movie. Last night was a karaoke extravaganza at the Galaxie on Burnside St. Once again, a good crew turned out and there were some excellent performances. Regulators!!! Mount up! It's about time I get to packing I suppose. Bangkok or bust, baby! "There is but one life for each of us: our own."
