January 13, 2005One Week Till Magic Time, Bird!
Okay, well, I am a little drunk right now and, using my good and careful judgement, have decided that this would be the best time to make an entry. I am a bit tired having walked (in flip-flops) from the University District of Seattle down to the Waterfornt below Pike's Place Market. I have sort of forgotten what a beautiful city Seattle is having lived in Portland (also a very beautiful city) for the last year. Such a journey was exactly what I needed as it caused me to face some hardship (it was quite cold today and the blisters on my feet were bothersome). My good friend Phil made a valid point the other day--that Portland had made me "soft," and he was right. It's time for me to buck up and be restored to my previous self. I have been in the Emerald City since Monday and have spent my time visiting old friends and attempting to get back into good physical shape. The last few days I have been enjoying numerous sets of chin-ups, handstand push-ups, push-up variations, and leg exercises...I feel this is necessary so that I don't have too much catching up to do once I begin training at the muay Thai camp in Chiang Mai. Tomorrow evening, I am headed to CrossFit North's facility in NE Seattle. For those unfamiliar, CrossFit is a cutting-edge online community geared toward achieving elite levels of physical fitness. No bodybuilding, just performance, baby. We will be attending an advanced class which includes kettlebell training. Kettlebells are an interesting and highly effective training piece originally hailing from Russia. For more information on the CrossFit system, check out www.crossfit.com. For more information on kettlebells, check out www.dragondoor.com. I think we are headed to Romio's Pizza tonight for their $1.50 Mac & Jack's special. Great beer at a great price...it should be good night. Until next time... "If you will it, it is no dream." Comments
