December 08, 2004Moving on
Today is December 8th. I arrived in Brunei on November 17th. I think it is time to move on. If I were to stay longer, it would only mean that my DVD collection would grow to a size that would hinder further travel. It would also mean that my level of laziness would grow to a point after which I couldn't be bothered to travel any further. These are two evils that I have decided to fight aggressively; tomorrow I head south to Miri. This is a big step... I had a job interview yesterday at the airport restaurant. This is apparently one of the few airport restaurants in the world that people that aren't travelling will eat at - it's close to town and relatively good food. Pengiran Salleh met me around 4pm, and we talked for almost an hour and a half about my past and his future. I left feeling very psyched, enthusiastic, excited... However after a sleepless night I decided it would be a bad idea to take the job - many reasons. So, now you can say you know someone who turned down a job working for a member of the Brunei Royal Family. Would have been neat to put that on my resume... My next entry will hopefully be from Miri, or somewhere else in Sarawak. Comments
Thanks for your many reports. |
