Koh Phi Phi (Pee Pee Island)

Boat_at_Maya_Bay_-_Koh_Phi_Phi_Don.jpg

I'm sitting in an open-air internet 'cafe' on the larger of the Phi Phi Islands right now. I was awake early and had breakfast by myself before renting some snorkel equipment and making my way to the beach. We are staying in a beautiful resort built up on a cliff, what a view! The walk up and down makes you regret it a little, but it's really quite spectacular.
So I went snorkelling in the azure waters, surrounded by tropical fish, despite the boat and swimmer traffic. I enjoyed the underwater views more than on Koh Tao and hopefully got some nice photos of the fish and coral. I've seen tonnes of cool fish, and giant clams... something Xotics was mildly interested in supplying. They definitely should! I heard that some people saw sharks (harmless black-tipped reef sharks) yesterday, so I spent a long while waiting about, but had no luck. I spent about 2hours, I figure, and got a nice red tone to my back. Exhausted, I clambered up the cliff to my bungalow where I relaxed for most of the rest of the day. Everyone I am with was here and there enjoying themselves, and I pretty much minded my own business. Watched one of my DVDs. Ate a bunch of food. Drank a few shakes. I think this is what Phi Phi is all about.

I'm hoping to make a tour of a nearby island, Koh Phi Phi Ley, where they happened to have shot "The Beach". It's a national park and is apparently completely undeveloped; a refreshing thing around here, where development wreaks havoc on EVERY beautiful space.

We're going to have a buffet dinner, apparently, followed by a Muay Thai fight, if we're lucky.
