November 05, 2004Koh Phi Phi (Pee Pee Island)
I'm sitting in an open-air internet 'cafe' on the larger of the Phi Phi Islands right now. I was awake early and had breakfast by myself before renting some snorkel equipment and making my way to the beach. We are staying in a beautiful resort built up on a cliff, what a view! The walk up and down makes you regret it a little, but it's really quite spectacular. I'm hoping to make a tour of a nearby island, Koh Phi Phi Ley, where they happened to have shot "The Beach". It's a national park and is apparently completely undeveloped; a refreshing thing around here, where development wreaks havoc on EVERY beautiful space. We're going to have a buffet dinner, apparently, followed by a Muay Thai fight, if we're lucky. Comments
