sniff sniff..what's that smell?

back in melbourne for a day of kicking back, kissed one of three men carrying their lunch to work, saw a cow up a tree and now i know where Batman hides out. wow, busy day. am buggared but not in the naughty sense.

next day flew to sydney. hey, this backpacker goes in style. Luckily didn't weigh in with too much excess baggage this time like in brisbane. (had to send a 3rd lot of crap home.)

found out there's a Krispy Kreme doughnuts here in Australia! yummmmmo. i went in search that afternoon for the only store located in the city. walked around for 2 hours, came full circle right back to where i started from and said f*ck it. i'm taking the train. got lost on the train. damnit! but a smile came over me when i saw the big shiny bright lights of Krispy Kreme. walked to Darling harbour and managed to juuuuuust miss spilling all the jelly onto me...phew. close one. squashed the other doughnut on the way home. just not my day. figured i should just go back to the hostel without trying to cause any more dramas. i popped back to the hostel which had a slight nose twinging smell to the room. mmm attractive. met the 4 other men in the room...aahhh..that's why there's a smell.

thank goodness, darren arrived early the next day to be my tour guide. we managed to walk around everywhere and not get lost. mind you, he did live in the city for 2 weeks when he first arrived in australia. saw the famous hot dog place that puts mashed peas on top of ur dog...yumm? walked to botanical gardens and scoped out our photo spot for sunset. shopped around a bit - really, only a bit. unfortunately, sunset wasnt spectacular and was afraid of the rain moving in.

darren left friday arvo. am jealous. he's off travelling for another 3 months or so to thailand, china, tibet and russia. imagine the photos! plus he likes to go off the beaten track and his prior photos of asia are just amazing. sigh.

that night met up with some of my europe contiki mates. been 2-3 years since i've seem some of them! has it really been that long since europe? gasp.
