as much as i change my name i've changed my scenery. i'm not in Cairns(us) anymore.

well, this little lady with a pink hat has decided to move on from cairns. cairns was good to me and cairns was bad for me (drinking wise) but i will always call it home. after 6months living in the same Queenslander house with the same flatmates and same fantastic job i decided it was time to continue with my travels...also...my visa will run out soon...gotta get this little canadian butt home before they kick it out.

i miss my Cairns family and friends. Monica and Tessie. missed tessie's 1st birthday by a week...damnit. sorry tessie. monica, like a sister/mom. cooked great meals for me when i was home...drove me everywhere, talked to me, listened to me. tessie, i treated like my own. got a text from monica saying that tessie would look at my picture on the wall. monica would ask where's eli? where's eli? and she would point to me!!! sigh...how my heart melted.

i will miss my workmates too. they were more like a family to me...a whole new set of sisters and a big brother. big brother, Mark, took care of me very well and helped me out in anyway possible. apparently after such a short time i made a big impression. was good to know that they felt the same about me as i did for them. a few tears were shed in our goodbye hugs and kisses. a big christmas/going away party for me on my last day of work. shut up shop early and big plans were set for the day. unfortunately, got rained out (the only day it rained that month!!) so we went bowling. this cdn kicked ass.
"who does this cdn think she is? coming in, stealing our jobs, stealing our hearts and beating us at bowling?"

shocked still from the work meeting/party cuz the alcohol started at 2pm! a work meeting with alcohol! none of my meetings in the past have ever had alcohol! i was still shocked!! everybody was completely blind (drunk), especially the boss - Mark! couple of the girls mooned the cars behind us, one girl went home early cuz she was too far gone. then a beautiful dinner. deep fried camembert cheese, dim sims, deliciously tender beef skewers....mmmmm yummm...all right by the moonlit beach.

definately, i work party to remember!
