that's another shade of green

let's cut this meeting short, looks like lizzzy is turning a different shade of green.

sorry have been slack in writing but i have a very good excuse. no really, i do, i'm not just saying it this time. i've just experienced the BEST & WORST time of my life!!! i am not only an open water certified scuba diver but am now an advanced specialty certified scuba diver!!!!!! i have just spent 2 days in the swimming pool learning theory and basics. (scoring 96% on exam....annnnnd thank you!) following week i spent 4 days in the open waters of the friggin Great Barrier Reef!!! soooo gorgeous out theree! even more amazing IN the water!! i got to swim with maori wrasse, 5 sharks (not sure what type, didn't wanna get close enough to find out...biggest one was 2 metres in length!), nemos, sting rays, turtles, barracudas, and a whole lotta other fish! sunk to a max depth of 30 metres, went night diving which was initially a little freaky but calmed down when we encountered mr. turtle resting his head on a bed of corals...so peaceful. i don't think i was finally comfortable until my final dive...lucky #13 because i was on a mission to get a nauice photo. it wasn't about finding my neutral buoyancy or concentrating on my breathing but getting THAT picture. must of followed Larry the Turtle for about 5 minutes...and he just let me! he looked over at me and was like..."hey dude....like no worries man." The Great Barrier Reef was friggin' BEAUUUUTIFUL above AND below the water!

Now lemme tell you the flip side. i didn't get my sea legs until the 4th day, the last day, when i knew i was getting off the flippin boat. apparently i changed colours to a pale green on the first day. it was so rocky at one point that when you walked down the corridor to your room you were knocked from the left wall to the right wall, back to the left one again. at night you had to sleep on your back cuz if you slept on a side you were close to falling off your bed! another sign of how rocky and turbulent it was: i could not even finish my meal!! shockers! the sight of food made me wanna hurl. i didn't even want a second helping of dessert! crikey!!! visited quite a few reef sites: Milln Reef - 3 sisters, Briggs Reef - Fish bowl, Thetford Reef and Moore Reef. once we hit land and kissing pavement, headed for the pub for a beer.
