Meeting Myrtle

the past couple days have been doing heaps. finally had a day off after working 7days straight...blah...where's the holiday here? me boss asked if i wanted to borrow the company car for a couple days while his wife (who normally drives it) was away in brissy. ROAD TRIP! cute little yellow bug with all these logos of the store and kodak all over it. aiya! but hey...it's a car. got my sharemate, Iori (from japan), to wag school and we headed south. visited a little town where the main attraction were "The Boulders". Myrtle, a lovely older lady at the info desk said that it's a little hike to the view points. Myrtle was so cute and helpful. she just wanted to keep giving us more brochures on stuff to do. little hike is right. the walk took no more than 10 mins to do. back at home in vancouver, the 'hike' to the viewpoints are at least 30 mins and they always seem to be steep hikes. hmph. guess i was expecting that.

next was Bramston Beach. grabbed lunch by the beach, had a nap, woke up and ate, napped again. aaaaah...the good life. we also saw a wild kangaroo!!! it was Iori's first time to se a kangaroo and she was so happy!

off we went to Josephine Falls. Myrtle said that Josephine Falls was a definate must plus the drive is gorgeous! the walks to these sights are so short! only about 800m or so. =( i was hoping for a good 2 hour hike like i used to do in vancouver with Ireland. we got to the spot and were like..."is that it? oh...yeah....that's pretty. " tried swimming in J. Falls as the smooth rocks form a natural slide. looked pretty to swim in but the water was just too darn cold for this little chicky. we just sat on the rocks with the cold water trickling through our little toesies imaging Myrtle slide down the smooth rocks.
