ooh that's why they call it Great!

just the beginning of my adventures on the Great Barrier Reef. the only living thing that can be seen from outer space! (well, that's what it says on the beer cap of my Gold XXXX)

g'day g'day,
went out on a day tour on the GREAT Barrier Reef! i did a 10 min intro dive first and that was scary but at the same time wonderful! almost everyone here in Cairns is a certified diver! it's so amazing! if you don't have it, it's like...'oooh...you don't have it??!?!!? well, when are you getting it?' i will have to start saving up for it as it ranges in prices depending on who you go with but i DEFINATELY want to get it!!! so back to the day tour of the GREAT Barrier Reef. after my 10 min dive i went snorkelling and it was as aj said it would be...amazing! i was swimming around seeing all that i could see..a bright blue seastar (not called a starfish anymore b/c they are really not fish). then i turned around and there were probably about 15 or so Humpback Wrasses (??? i think that's what they are called) they were about 2 feet in length. watched them eat the coral and swim around. so gorgeous! then i realized that there were a lot of them and just one of me. i got a little freaked out and all those hollywood movies started getting to me...what if they turn and start eating me instead!!! aagghh! so i swam away n went in search of other fish. some ppl saw turtles and stingrays...mayhaps the next time i go out i will see them too.

that's all i have to report for now...peace out.
