i'm baaaaaack

going from +5 degrees to +26 degrees...the shocker.

i'm baaaaaaaaack in australia!!!

g'day g'day.

a wee little update from japan. i have had the time of my life in tokyo the

past week!!!! all due to the many friendly people, smiling faces, and new
friends i made. just wanna say BIG THANKS to:

- Val for showing me how shabu shabu is really done.
- akiko and dai for helping me look all over tokyo for the nike tshirt in
katakana. didn't find it but it was fun looking.
- shizukosan for her motherly ways. (tomo, please say thanks to your mum
for me)
- tomo (or tomy as i call him) for the excellent tour, dinner and for being

the all around cool guy.
- ken (or kenny as i call him) for letting me drag him all around tokyo and

finally helping me explode my suitcase and it's contents all over the
shinjuku subway. jj/jk thanks for helping me carry it down the 5 flights
of stairs!!! the 2 suitcases weighed in at 60 kg. =)~
- aussie liz for letting me stay in the aptment! (megs, can you please say

thanks and make sure you share the chocolates
- finally, last but not least, MEG (or MEGGGY as i call her)! for just
being the bestest, funniest and most giving dodgy japanese person i know!!!

have made some observations of tokyo and the people there. wanna know what

they are? no? too bad, here goes:

1. jap ppl like their food so freakin hot that it burns your freakin
tongue.
2. octopus balls are jummo (takoyaki)
3. do not eat 10 octopus balls or you will be sick.
4. all stairs that go downward in dept stores lead
to.............fooooooooooood!!!!
5. the local 7-11's also smell like japanese restaurants!
6. take a tour at the BEGINNING of the trip so that you know what to do for

the rest of the days instead of trying to do everything in one day!
7. if you go on holidays, go somewhere warm. it was freaking cold there
and
it started to snow on my last nite.
8. amazing how many people fit into one elevator
9. men carry 'purses' or handbags or whatever you wanna call them
10. it is odd to go from +5 degree weather to + 26 in only 8 hours.
11. last but not least, all japanese people are tres cool and tres helpful

(for a damsel in distress)

since the last update, i've done heaps. just on saturday alone (my last
day) i went to the fish markets at 6am, kabuki theatre at 11am, lunch at
3pm, sumo wrestling at 4pm, more sightseeing at 7pm, dinner at a prostitute

restaurant (for the food of course), spanish dancing at some time that i
wasnt checking my watch, and finally shaking what my mamma gave me at a pub

till 1ish in the morning. contiki contiki days! here we go again!

well, anyways, am in australia now. just landed today and have done some
administrative stuff so that i can start working. oh bother. will update
more when i do more. weather is terrible t'day. oooooooooonly 26 degrees.
