Okay, remember this bit of information. If you walk into a place and it creeps you out, don't hesitate to leave as soon as you can. This was my first impression of the hostel in Drogheda. It smelled funny and the guy who was at the reception gave me the creeps. I just thought it was because I was hungry and tired, but, it wasn't. I ate some food and came back and it was just as foul as I had first thought. So, after crying on the phone to my Mom, I took her advice and booked a room in hotel for this evening and the next. I know, I was all bent on staying in hostels and really experiencing Ireland, but there are times when you just have to get off the road and away from the community bathrooms and bunk beds. Not to mention the self serve kitchens that aren't so clean. I did stay last night in Drogheda, but I moved this morning to Dublin. I am booked at the Walton Hotel, which is owned by the Walton Family. Not the same Walton Family from America...you know Wal-Mart...these people make fine musical instruments and have a music shop next to the hotel. Plus, the place is very close to the city centre! I can see a lot of things by walking! I am going to Trinity College sometime today to see the Book of Kells and I have to buy a new backpack because mine bit the dust this morning. I knew it was going to happen, but I tried to make it last as long as I could. Well, I need to go and find that new bag. I can tell by the sounds from the street, it is raining. I will get some use out of my umbrella. I will try to post again tomorrow. I will let you know how it felt to have a real shower and watch some television. I can't wait!
