June 04, 2004Festivus For the Rest of Us
Today marks the official beginning of Summerfest 2004!! You may be wondering what in the world is Summerfest 2004? Well, 'Festivus, as I like to call it, is the parish festival that my church holds every summer. There is food, games, live music (homegrown talent I might add) and just lots of good clean fun! Festivus is my favorite time of the year...mostly because it means that summer is ready to begin and school is out, but I love to get together with my friends! In fact, I had to schedule my trip around Festivus, because you have to go to Festivus if you are a good Catholic! Okay, I also had to schedule around Confirmation, but Festivus was right there at the top of the list too. Anyhow, tonight is the kick off with the school talent show and performances by two bands made up of current and recently graduated students from our school. It should be a good night with some great entertainment. There will also be ribs! I am really looking forward to the ribs! Anything slathered in BBQ Sauce is good in my book. I am taking my camera and hopefully I can upload some pictures for your viewing enjoyment tomorrow. I see this as great practice for when I hit the road. I will already be skilled in uploading! Until next time, Heather P.S. I am intentionally not telling the name of my school/parish because my Mom is afraid that some crazed maniac will stumble onto my website and decide to come and find me. Of course, in this day and age, you can never be too safe. I am doing this for the safety of those around me and for myself! Posted by Heather on June 4, 2004 12:34 PM
