Last bit of Thailand and Malaysia begins.

Hello there peeps, I apologise for the lack of pics in this one, I forgot the CD I need, I promise to update it as and when.

After leaving Koh Phangan

we headed down to Koh Phi Phi which despite the apparent rumour is most definately open for tourism and they need all the input they can get. Apparently none of the money donated by various countries reached a lot of the Tsunami affected areas because of, put bluntly, the Thai government's pride! The island is still torn apart by what happened but there are a lot of volunteers and locals working on putting that back to how it should be. Steve and I did a couple of days helping, we filled sandbags to help stop the beach washing away now there's so few palm trees and did some raking, shoveling and wheel-barrowing. The atmosphere is a little infectious and although we ached a while we are both glad to have been able to do a little to help the great people on the island move back towards what they once had.

On the other side of things, the party was most definately there, we teamed up with Megan and Rachel (Irish girls from previous Blog) and experimented with the local whisky (they put half a pint in) and Thai redbull in a bucket. The product was certainly interesting involving a lot of rather uncoordinated dancing by Megan and Rachel lying on the beach until a wave washed over her creating a rather sandy result!

Not in order but who cares, the day before Renee, Tarryn and Tracey (3 Kiwis also from previous blog) came for the day and we went on a boat to Phi Phi Lai where The Beach was filmed, it's oh so pretty but unfortunately the sea was filled with crap, one can only assume from the Tsunami. I have some good pics though.

Now we're in Malaysia after a mammoth bus ride (A/C mini van so not too bad) and tomorrow we go to the Perhentian Islands to maybe dive otherwise to do whatever people do there, we've got about 12 days until we fly over to Borneo to see some mountains, national parks and various forms of groovy wildlife. Apparently they have leopords there so I'm going to hopefully have something really exciting to post in my next entry!

Well, that's me for now, let me know if you owant to know anything more, I try to keep these brief to appeal to a wider audience (you are telling your friends now aren't you!?).

Take care y'all.

Well hello flat 12 (slightly camp), sorry about the lack of pics, I'll put them on as soon as I can find a comp that recognises my camera I promises, that's right, I promises! Hope you are all having fun and drinking more than is healthy, have a drink for me because on the East coast it's really quite hard to get a drink due to the very large Muslim majority, we're off to the West tonight though so I'll raise my first to you!
