May 26, 2005Back in Thailand
So, we got back to Thailand and made our way back to sweet Bangkok. We found out that our old friends from Don Det in Laos were there as well and went out to find them in the streets of the back packers hub. There we spotted Stef and Nathan, sitting, relaxing, almost like being back in Laos! We met up with them for a couple of nights and did some stuff, probably the most amusing anecdote is the live 'concert' with some reasonable singers and the English Premier League playing ion a massive screen behind the poor performer! We also took our first Bangkok taxi ride, a cheap way to get around. Since I called shot gun you don't have to look at me, at least in this picture. View image Next we booked a dive course through a travel agent in Bangkok, P.L Travel. Incidentally we saved ourselves around 1400 Baht (around 20 pounds, a lot of money out here) by not doing it independently, a strange phenomenn I'm sure you'll agree! We made our way to Koh Tao and learnt to dive, we qualified as PADi open water divers on the 15th May. Here's a pic of our instructor, he wasn't even drunk! Micael From Koh Tao we made our way to Koh Phangan for the infamous full moon party. At our chosen guest house we were fortunate enough to meet three Kiwi Ladies who made us stay up and drink and two Irish Girls caught up with us from Koh Tao. The full moon was pretty good, a bit too much of teh drum and bass and Techno for a 12 hour party but there was a lot of cool stuff to see, fire everything and people (just plain ordinary people) jumping through a hoop of fire with varying amounts of skill/luck! The beach was pretty busy and my foot was in abandage from a coral graze obtained a couple of days previously but all in all I had a really good time and I think the others we were with did too. The sun rise looked like this From Kho Phangan we have made our way to Krabi, in teh direction of Malaysia where we are off to next, it's a bit of a travel hub so not a lot going on in the town itself, tomorrow we are heading to Koh Phi Phi where the party might be at. It's going to be strange to leave Thailand for the second time, perhaps never to return but if I get really bored and have seen the rest of teh world I will come back! For Ann, here's proof that bunny is getting in on the party;image, that's Tracey, a Kiwi nurse who lives in Australia. Well, that's a very brief summary of where we are up to now, we have Malaysia next, then a little Singapore then the big jump to the great Australia. I will try to keep you updated and feel free to email me whenever you please! Drop a comment in aswell so I know you're reading it. Thank you for reading my blog. Dave Comments
