January 29, 2005blog meltdown
Well, I haven't been blogging since I discovered that I didn't have nearly the amount of money or time to complete the trip. On a more positive note, the Iraqi elections are tomorrow and I want everyone to get out there to the polls. I'm personally casting my ballot for Abdul Aziz Al Hakim from SCRI. If any of my Iraqi Chaldean (Catholic) Liquor store owning friends in San Diego are reading this (which I seriously doubt), get yourselves up to LA to cast your vote (which according to the NYTimes, as ethnic Iraqi emmigres, you can)! I'm back in Essaouira in a "Castle made of Sand" known as the HotelSmara. I met a few nice fellow english speakers there today and we sat and discussed everything from the price of a hostel in Spain to toursit scams in Thailand to "Africa's World War" otherwise known as the eastern Congo(where I believe Rwandan troops have recently entered the fray). In the context of this, I apparently got one hell of a sunburn which is fine with me considering how cold it is here at night. SOS This blog could be saved with the contribution of a few hundred bucks, a couple hundred Euros and way less Pounds Sterling! Comments
