I've been to the year 3000!
This morning I went to Senso-ji one of japans biggest temples which is handily just accross the road!
This afternoon I went to Shinjuku - as soon as I stepped off the train I was gobsmacked it really was like something of back to the future! A girl walked past dressed in a weird black wedding dress clutching a scary looking doll! Two other girls with perma tans and blue contact lenses!
Huge TV screens on the buildings, neon lights everwhere, stunning young girls with perfect hair and nails and very good looking young men in versace suits and gucci shoes!
Tokyo is a vertical city with restaurants on top of each other as high as 20 floors up!
What a culture shock after SE Asia! I am still being stared at although now its because I am a scruffy traveller without a Louis Vuitton bag!
Also I have gone from the worst toilets in the world in China to electric toilets in Japan that warm up when you sit on them and wash your bum when you`ve finished and then automatically flush when you stand up - fantastic! Everything talks in Tokyo - the elevators, toilets,escalators, ATM`s it`s great!
I went for something to eat and couldn`t believe how good it tasted! Even though it did cost ten times what I have been paying for a meal it was worth every tasty penny!
I got a little confused at the train station what with 15 different lines, 10 exits and entrances and 2million people passing through every day!! making it one of the busiest in the world!
I went headfirst into the modern Japenese phenomenon, high class department stores, flashing neon, government office towers, swarming push&shove crowds, street side video screens, stand up noodle bars, hostess clubs and sleazy strip bars!
