Chongqing

Next stop on our journey was Chonqing, that's another thing about China, me no understand the traveling system!!We were advised by about 10 travel agents about our journey, & by a few ex-pat Brits & Americans, so we headed on a 4 hour bus journey down south in order to get a connection for a 25 hour train journey. At the station we met a woman who said she was heading south so taking the train for 12 hours north, to change to another line going south to her destination. All very well, but the thing is that she was changing trains at a station that was an hours bus journey from where we had started off that day why did everyone tell us to go south???Looking at the map we had planned to go to that station, but were advised against it & we thought there must be some complicated line system, so couldn't get a direct train, do people in China just like to make things complicated??
So yeah, we did eventually get to Chongqing, which was just a stopover point for the Yangzi River!!Got there on a Saturday night, so we decided to hit the town of China's biggest city!!What happened - you guessed it, we got stared at!!And we had the obligatory people trying to talk to us in Chinese, & when that didn't work, by getting their mate (whose English wasn't that much better) to come & translate for us interesting!!
