2nd day in Bangkok

On my second day I went to visit the Grand Palace. I caught the skytrain to the central pier on the Chao Phraya River where I caught an express boat. The Chao Phraya River has much of Bangkoks history along its banks. My stop was the Grand Palace. I met two girls from Ottawa and they adopted me for the day. It took an hour or maybe two to walk around the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. There were lots of colourful mosaics and glittering spires. I was feelign a little 'templed out' at this stage but we headed for Wat Pho next. I was glad I went along though as it features the largets reclining Buddha and the largest collection of Buddhas in Thailand.
Next was a short trip across the river to Wat Arun (the temple of Dawn). We left by the wrong exit and ended up in a back street - cue lots of skinny cats and dodgy guys on motorbikes. We walked past a school where a netball game was taking place. There were loads of people watching and cheering and boys playing hand drums - it was so nice to see that.
