February 12, 2005Bio
I was born in London in 1960. After I got a B.A. in Photography and Film (in 1984), I worked for seven years as a copywriter in advertising, before deciding to become a TEFL teacher in 1992, which I have been ever since up to now (2005). I have also been at work on my second novel (which will probably end up as being my first novel!) Though I was born in London, and think of myself as a Londoner, I have lived in many countries, both when I was a child and now as an adult. In 1989 I decided to take a sabbatical from advertising, and spent a year on Andros, a Greek island. This is my account of that, a sort of retrospective blog, and also an account of the three years I spent teaching in Northern Greece, starting in 1992. I travelled around a lot of Greece during that time. I will be making connections and commenting on how things have changed since then, on both Andros, and in Greece as a whole. This summer (2005) I plan to return to Andros once again, and maybe revisit Kastoria and Thessaloniki, and to make some more comments. Comments
