“Energy is the real substance behind matter and form” - Randolph Stone

Before reading this blog entry, it is useful to read this article:
http://www.nexusmagazine.com/articles/miracle.man.html.

João de Deus is most famous for his healing miracles such as pulling people out of wheelchairs (and not leaving them lying on the floor as some people like to joke when I say that!). In the 43 years that the Casa has been running, he has assisted in the cure of thousands of Cancer cases and many cases of AIDS. Miracles do happen at the Casa, I witnessed a few myself. I saw a person come out of a wheelchair when I was there. I was part of the “current” that day, I heard João (in entity) say “vamos andar” (let’s walk), I snuck an eye open, I saw her get up and walk. I heard the shreiks of delight. A friend of mine that I met in Abadiania, said in the 8 months he had been there he had seen about 40 such occurences. So, perhaps, in terms of instant healing miracles João and the entities of the Casa are running at a few a week.

The Casa

Casa View.jpg

After a few days of solitude and settling in, it was finally Wednesday. Today was a “Casa Day” which meant that João was there, at the Casa de Dom Inacio, ready and waiting to attend to whoever turned up. Abadiania legend has it that sometimes there were over 1000 people lined up and João didn’t leave until he had seen all of them. Sometimes staying late into the night.

I was off to the first healing session of the day. The 8am session. It was a bright sunny day and dressed in my new white clothes I joined the river of white flowing towards the Casa. Many had to be wheeled or helped in some way and judging by the languages and accents being spoken some had come from a long way away.

Abadiânia Arrival

July 6th, 2006

Again I found myself at the immense Brasilia “Rodoferroviaria” ready to catch another bus. Brasilia is really the hub of all things weird, wonderful and paranormal in Brasil, if not the world.

Fortunately, Monica was still with me too, she was heading to Rio but had enough time to help me find out how I was going to get to Abadiânia.

I found a bus and was on my way, it didn’t really stop in Abadiânia proper but the driver said he would drop me on the side of the highway there. I hoped he didn’t forget about me, but this was Brasil and when we approached Abadiânia several people on the bus made sure the driver remembered. Brasilians were amazing to me, everywhere I went they did stuff like this, always making sure I was ok. All I had heard about before I came was how dangerous it was, not how incredibly caring and considerate the average Brasileiro is.

So at 11pm I found myself on the side of the road in Abadiânia, not knowing where the hell I was. I knew I was safe though. I crossed the road and walked up to a pub and said “João de Deus?”. Everyone knew what I was talking about and they pointed me to a road and said that he was at the end of the street.

Valentino and his magic scissors

June 28th, 2006

After a short local bus ride out of Brasilia, Monica and I arrived in Gama, a small and simple town full of half built houses and kids playing soccer in the street. This was definitely off the “Gringo Trail”…

From Chamado to Chapada

This national park is a must if you have a few months in Brasil. The whole area is covered in quartz crystal and has a very powerful energy. The waterfalls and canyons are breathtaking and the local flora is very interesting. I especially liked the miniture coconuts. Yum.

The Hummingbird’s gifts

Hummingbirds were a real theme on this trip, they tended to appear at the magical moments, times when I was high on the adventure, times when I really felt that I was “In the flow”. I was of course travelling without a plan, but there are certain levels of “without a plan” that can be achieved. This trip for me was a case of “How much can I let go of what I want to happen and just go with the flow and trust that whatever happens I will be ok and it will be perfect”.

What we are doing in Argentina and ways you can help.

So the big question everyone is asking is “what are we doing in Argentina”?

By now you know that I am involved with a project in Argentina. I have bought land to build a healing centre where we will utilise all the best methods we know such as herbs, diet, body cleansing, energetic healing, yoga, breathing, meditation, healthy building construction and more to help people heal themselves of illness. That will definitely happen over the coming years but our immediate focus is on another property nearby, the 1000 acre centre for consciousness, healing, ecology and art: “Yacu Yura”.

the Astral Travelling Surfers

April 6th, 2006

I arrived in Floripa in torrential rain, it was 9 degrees celcius outside, I was alone and didn’t speak the language. Sounds horrible, but I was so excited to be back here that it overshadowed everything. I was greeted at the bus station by a man called Adão, “A what?” I said. “Adão” he replied. The “ão” sound in portuguese was so foreign to me at that stage, it sounds like nothing in English. It sounds like you are saying “owng” through a very blocked nose. Anyway, Ads wanted to find me some accomodation in Floripa. Now, I reckoned I wanted to stay down on the beach for a month and get some portuguese going before I went anywhere else. It was hardly beach weather though. Ads found me a place right on the beach and I signed up for 4 days just to start off.

Smokey and the border crossing bandits

March 31st, 2006

With the dream land safely secured under deposit, it was finally time to go to Brazil. I have been waiting for this moment for many years. I was first in Brazil in 2002 at the end of my last South America trip. Back then, I only stayed for a week in a place called “Florianopoils” in the south. This was enough for me to catch the infamous Brazil bug, one of the most notoriously difficult travel bugs to cure. I must be high in Selenium because I have been a Brazil nut since. After falling in love with Brazil instantly in 2002, I vowed to return for a longer tour starting where I left off the last time in “Floripa” as it is affectionately known.

I headed back to Buenos Aires to get a Visa and I was off on a gruelling 28 hour busride to Floripa.
