May 03, 2005COLOMBIA!!
Well, I am on the last leg of my trip, it seems an appropriate way to end it. I am now in Bogota, Colombia visiting one of my best friends who lives here. We became friends in college, but she had to come back here last year. Bogota is very large! There are 7-10 million inhabitants. Today, we walked a bit through the downtown, and the crowded sidewalks and folks in business suits remined me a lot of New York City. It is refreshing to be in a large city again. The driving here, like in any city is crazy and the cars do not always stay in their lanes, but it is an adventure! Today we went to the Museo Nacional. We went there and looked at artifacts from the precolombian era and from the conquistadores. It was pretty interesting, and made me realize that I hardly know anything about the history of the world, especially the world before Jesus, like ancient civilizations. The surroundings and the people I am around demand of me deep thinking. I will try to stay lighthearted and think deeply at the same time! Comments
