April 30, 2005La Fortuna
On Monday, April 18 (the birthday of my mom, happy bday mom!) Maribel and I headed out to La Fortuna, the touristy town near Volcán Arenal. There, we stayed in a simple cabinas and ate some good food (que rico) at a local restuarant. We then left for the Baldí hot springs. If I am correct, I think that the hot springs are heated natually by the heat from the volcano. We went to Volcan Arenal to see the volcano, but it was rainy and cloudy so we did not see anything. But the hot springs were really nice. I really felt like I was living luxuriously at this place. Tropical plants and steaming pools made for a nice time. It rained almost the whole time we were there, but it was fine. When our fingers and toes had had enough of the water, we left and headed back to La Fortuna. The next morning, we went in a mini bus and boat through lake Arenal to Monteverde. We still did not see the volano, but we were on our way to Monteverde, so that was cool. Pura vida! Comments
