March 09, 2005Our dog
Oh, que comico! The first day my friend Sofie and I walked to the school from the house we are staying in was hilarious...annoying and just downright interesting. We could have taken the bikes (the mother at the house has bikes for those who stay with her), but of course, we decided to walk. As we began to walk the dog from the house started to follow us. If that´s all that she did, it wouldn´t be so funny, but she stated to bite at our clothes. Poor Sofie was wearing a longish, red chifone skirt and I had on a pair of shorts. The dog would walk along for a few seconds with us and then start to bite at us, jumping up to reach our clothes. I was laughing and trying to distract here from Sofie´s skirt, but by the end of our walk, Sofie and I were both convinced that this dog really was very dumb... and annoying. She stopped following us right before we got to the school. After class, we went had a meeting, went to lunch and thought that we were rid of her. But, lo and behold, who shows up at the beginning of the road but the perra. We could not believe it. She had waited for us (or so we believe) all day and now was going to follow and bite at us all the way home. She is small and not ferocious, so no need to fret. The only scary thing about it is this: in Samara, there must not be a leash law, because there are dogs wandering around all over the place. I really don´t like big dogs, so for me it is quite a test. Our dog, by walking with us, was on other dogs property and it was just a little frightening walking past a large dog with our silly little dog trailing behind. I felt like Mary... except we had a little dog! And the next day, we took the bikes. Comments
