February 18, 200536 hours before departure
Hi everyone! Here is the promised travel blog. Well, it is just 36 hours (give or take) until I board the plane that will stop twice before it lands in Costa Rica. I have been spending so much money just on supplies and such and am ready to go (and stop spending!). Over the next few months, I will be in the cities of Heredia and Alajuela and the beach town of Samara. I start my time in 4 weeks of Spanish classes, which I am very excited about. Then, I will start a volunteering position(s) which are TBA. Things are going to be very different for me for the next few months! But hopefully, I will start to like beans and onions really quickly, because that's a lot of what the diet consists of. As you read the blogs, feel free to make comments. Given the fact that I will not have constant internet access, I might not be able to respond to them all, but I will try to read them all. I'll write more when I get there. Until then... adios! I feel almost like I am there. I guess every place has holes you have to dodge--I know that the pot holes in Boston right now are terrible. Since I am driving your car, I am trying hard not to hit them. I look forward to seeing pictures at some point. Can they be posted on the Web site?
