South America’s Ecotourism Problem

Machu Picchu is one of South America’s largest tourism draws. Travelers come from all over the globe to see an ancient relic left behind from historical cultures. However, Peru’s mismanagement of the tourism in Aguas Calientes is putting Machu Picchu at risk of being damaged and destroyed. For a location that is so rich in historical significance it would be a shame for it to be destroyed simply due to mass and reckless tourism.
