Preparing To Depart England

**Hmm I have no idea why the picture post is showing up twice, sorry about that**

So, I'm off to Lyon on Weds. afternoon, to hang with Mister Xavier. The man has more college degrees than he has digits on his left hand, Most of them related to French. Evidently his apartment is a bit tiny; and by tiny I mean micro-fucking small- It should make for intersting accomodation for two people. The likleyhood of us killing each other seems greatly increased.

My last few days in London have been quite uneventfull. Mostly hanging with Ben and going on long walks around the city. I went to a few bars and went clubbing one night, nothing that intersteing really. One thing about european cities that I love is that when you meet new people you never know where they're from right-off. It's equally likely they will be from Albania as England. It's possible this is just a big-city phenomena, where folks from everywhere gravitate to one place. After all, I've never been to New York maybe it's the same way there.

Regardless, I rarely meet foreigners in the states, and when you do it's such a novelty, you single out the moment. Here it just feels natural that people should be from wherever. It makes you feel more like a citizen of the world, rather than simply one place. It's a very comforting feeling, and it gives me a strange sense of belonging. - If that makes any sense.

London is an interesting place.-not sure yet if I want to live here, it's staggeringly huge and very, very, busy. I'll be back here in about a month, I'll see Lyon has altered my perceptions any at that point.

just finally caught up on my reading of your posts... been kind of a limp few days for me. yesterday i was sat mightily upon by a throbing beast of a migraine, forcing me into the cave of Skamp's otherwise vacant apartment, to lurk on the couch and wait to see if he'd come in and turn on an infernal light source before i had time to make like a vampire and cover up or leave. this morning has dawned grey and fun of oregon's liquid sunshine (ugh) at this moment i'd trade Portland's grey for London's in a heartbeat. You have once again made me wonder why i haven't picked up and started traveling myself. Good to hear that the lady fortune of travelers has kept you on her star list. I hope your adventures continue bright and wily, and when they aren't just remember
"Chaque un est merde!"
Take care and walk on ;)
hugs

well... I am still stuck in portland for another day or so. Though I am enjoying spending time with my friend noelle. The weather here is rather miserable, and I have caught a cold.

Enjoy Lyon... micro-fucking small- huh... we shall see... we shall see. When you have a chance... and you have your plans figured out a bit more... Paris is looking cheaper than London for me right now. X-mas day, or right after... which sounds like more fun for New Years?

Crazy Ben rocks! Everybody should have a drinkin' buddy with the name of "Crazy Ben". It should be officially recognized by law, even if he doesn't recognize it himself!

Anubis gives you his regards. -R.

Hey there, just caught up on the reading as well. Glad to hear you are having a good time so far...are the Crazy Ben stories going to be at the caliber of the Wahib stories? Heh heh, I will take joy in hearing them. I'm with Rainbow on this one, it makes me all travel-lusty to read about your stuff and realize I'm not doing it myself. Ireland in the spring is a bust (financial stuff mostly) but another time. Things are all still settling in here with school still being a mystery for me. Keep letting the good times roll.

I'm not sure Ben quite deserves to be compared to Wahib. Ben after all is a sane, reasoning person. He just has a flamboyant personality.

Wahib was nuttier than squirrel shit, out-of-his-tree nuts!.
