Midair Sentiments

This is a bit out of sync, as I composed it on the plane over over germany a few days ago, but I didn't find a cafe that would allow me my laptop on the network until this afternoon. It's nothing special, but I figured I took the time to write it, I may as well post it, yeah?

Wow, so here we are, on the road, and already the fickle finger of fortune is proding me with it's skeletal digit, throwing unexpected circumstance in my direction. I'm consistantly amazed at how much coincidence plays a part in traveling. It seems sometimes that the cosmic knows that you're throwing your welfare at the mercy of and whim of the unknown, and cuts you slack accordingly. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, when I'm traveling things seem to just always 'work themselves out'. Maybe I just have more Karma than common sense, who knows?. Regardless it feels good to have the odds tipped in your favor.

Which fortunes do I speak of?. Well, so far on this jaunt- every bus, train, tram and appointment I've had to make have worked out with bank-job timing. I don't think I've waited more than one minute for any connections I've had to make. Getting off the Amtrak in Tukwila, I befriended a super-cool Swedish girl named Anna, and we split a cab to SeaTac. I spent my layover chatting her up in the airport sports bar over beers - gabbing about politics and traveling (turns out shes addicted too). Three hours were over in a flash, and it looks like I have open-invitation to visit her in Stockholm. I get back to my gate JUST as my flight is boarding, and as luck would have it, I get a whole center-aisle row in coach to myself. Four pillows, four blankets, and straight to sleep. I wake up just as we are making our landing approach to Copenhagan, and just in time for orange juice and a sammich from a hot Scandavian stewardess.

We'll see how my luck holds out,-
