November 08, 2004Sleepless Delirium
After a long night sitting vigil in the dark compulsivley packing and unpacking my bag, I am ready finally to depart. I have a train to catch to Seattle and then a plane to London. I haven't slept since Satuday night in the hopes that the exhasution will allow me to pass out on the plane and 'fold time' over the 12 hour flight. With my luck I'll end up the poster boy for insomnia- Sitting wide-awake for the whole ride. I'll land in London a red-eyed, sleep deprived zombie. I'll just have to remember to shamble down the opposite side of the street :). Now that the day has finally arrived, I'm anxious, excited and relieved all at once. Hillary came over last night and hashed out London details with me, she has graciosuly vouched me toward her london friends, one of whom is allowing me to darken his couch for a few days. We'll see how bunking with a total stranger treats me. I was prettry dodgy about the whole proposition before talking with the guy on the phone last night. He seems like quite an intersting, odd, cat. Pretty much my kind of people. As for myself I'm all packed down,(and up) and with my nose to the wind headed for the door. In fact I have about 20 minutes to get out to the bus headed downtown. I think I'll wrap this up for now, pack myself a literary doggie-bag and contintue the thought fron England. See you later Portland. Posted by Caleb on November 8, 2004 12:49 PM

Let us all know that you arrived safely. I'm looking forward to hearing your adventures. I've arrived safely, though i'm pretty wet, It's pissing down rain here. I'm at a Burger King/EasyInternet in Piccadilly Circus drying off. I've hit the first snag of my trip. It Turns out Hillary's friend Ben who i'm supposed to stay with had to work today. Now I have to kill time until 12am when he gets off work. Guess I'll go see a movie, there's not a lot to do in London @7pm on a Tuesday. Leastwise when you don't know anybody. Posted by: Caleb on November 9, 2004 01:02 PMyeah! glad to know you didn't crash the plane. How did the flight treat you? did you get any sleep? I always pass right out... but then, I'll sleep anywhere. I always bring way too much airplane reading fodder, and never get past page 25 of the first book. Gordo Cooper and I are two of a kind i guess. Ohh... damn... now I have jinxed myself. Did ya flirt and gain use of a outlet and plug in the laptop? Have fun meeting the mysterious Ben... see ya in a month or so... K Posted by: Kati on November 9, 2004 01:55 PMUpdates, Updates! Take it easy, your insatiable!.
