Knock Knock

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Well if I’m stuck in the US at the moment, I might as well spend the time in one of my favorite cities in the world - Chicago!

Somehow, I have managed to land an interview with a production company that wants a travel writer for a TV show about different cultures in the US. The timing couldn’t be better, because I was about to start focusing on some articles about “traveling without leaving home”….which fits my situation at the current moment.

I’m not entirely convinced that I belong droning in front of a camera, but when opportunity softly rasps at the door, you don’t look through the peephole and think about life first, you warmly embrace it and kiss it on each cheek. And so this Friday, I shall do just that.

Worst case scenario - I get to meet some interesting people in the business, wander around my favorite city, and hear some proper Blues that night. Its a win - win! :)

The Weekend

Friday, March 28th, 2008

To escape some of the negative chi I have managed to sow around me, I am heading out to Red River Gorge to grab a cabin and hike/party with 6 friends. Getting into the woods should be a temporary cure for the blues anyway.

Since I’ll be gone until the day before, if you haven’t sent in a photo for my “crazy moment photo contest” yet, do it! The deadline is on Monday (March 31st).

Some of the entries out there now are good, but I hate to say it, many leave much to be desired…..I wouldn’t exactly call a picture of a sunset a “crazy moment” but maybe it is for a vampire, who knows. I have to choose 5 winners so you still have a very good chance to win.

Have a good weekend. Dzai Jian. Poka. Lagawn. Chok Dee Na. Arrivederci. Adios. Au Revoir. Auf Wiedersehen.

The Big Decision

Sunday, March 16th, 2008
The author EV Lucas said, "No one can lay a hand on our dreams." Romantic, but not entirely true. It turns out that they can. After weeks of blog-silent deliberation, I have decided to forfeit my big trip. I think drilling a ... [Continue reading this entry]

Maybe its my sore back. Maybe I've just been trapped in the US too long. Maybe I'm just a jerk. Maybe its all three, but I can't stop laughing. :) After researching some very strange findings in my web logs, I came ... [Continue reading this entry]
