Countdown to Mexico

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

The cashier gave me a dirty look as I took the flip flops and sunscreen out of my little red basket.

I felt a little guilt creep over me because in 6 days she will still be freezing in Target and I will be getting paid to get that tan. :)

With less than a week to go, I have been running mad, preparing for my assignment in Mexico. Unfortunately I have pretty much spent my earnings (bad business I know) on equipment and supplies. No worries, I’m just happy that I am getting back out of the country and the fact that I will have even more strange eyeballs molesting my blog delights me.

I fly out on Saturday morning and will start writing the next day. I will post the link to the Spring Break blog here of course.

Woohoo!

Voy a México!!!

Monday, February 19th, 2007

If its been too long since your highschool Spanish class, that means:
I GOT THE SPRING BREAK ASSIGNMENT IN MEXICO!!!

Maybe it was the sniveling about the cold that I did in my last post, or maybe the 3 virgins that I…errr….threw down the volcano in Hawaii, but my blog prayers have been answered and I am on my way in a little over 2 weeks!

This is big. It also sounds like a lot of work. I might need a break after my spring break, but Acapulco sounds warmer than Kentucky and I am definitely up for the challenge. There is a little pay, maybe enough to cover the sunscreen I will need to keep my winterized Irish skin from turning a crispy red.

I am levitating. In fact, I don’t think my feet have touched the ground since I got off the phone with the production manager. A high level of Fukitol was starting to accumulate in my blood so this is exactly what the doctor ordered!

I can’t give any details away now, but I will post a link to the official site later when it is announced.

Life is good.
