My name is Helen, I'm from the UK, I'm a Yorkshire Lass although I've been living south of the Watford Gap for the last 10 years. Last month I took my first decent holiday in 10 years. It was my very first trip solo and my first time doing like a backpacker rather than a tourist with money to burn. I chose the west coast of the USA for my trip and managed to take four weeks off work in order to make it a decent trip.

This is actually a post travel blog and an extention of the old fashioned journal I wrote while on the road. You see, I like to write while sitting in the park, or to pass the time on long train journeys. I don't have a laptop, so pen and paper are my tools. However, I wanted to share my experiences and to expand / edit my diary for friends, family and other travellers.
