Here is the actual final itinerary I followed. I left from Dulles airport near Washington D.C. on May 25, 2005. I returned to the US on May 30, 2006 at JFK airport in NYC. That brings my trip total to 370 days in which I visited 23 countries. I spent the most time in Thailand with a total of 55 days. 29 of those I was in Bangkok, which is the single place I spent the most time on my trip.

Here are my pictures from Malaysia, Southern Thailand, and Singapore. It was fun to spend some time on the beaches and see a bit of the jungle in the Cameron Highlands in central Malaysia. I highly recommend Railay Beach in Thailand, it is near the Krabi area. Also, I put the Perhentian Islands on the Northeast coast of Malaysia at the top of my list. Kuala Lumpur and Singapore were both impressively modern cities. Both displaying there wealth and prosperity loud and clear w/ a nice mix of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures.

Myanmar is like no other place I have ever been.
Before you look at the pics you should really read what I write about the culture, it will help explain some of what you see. I promise to post this story really soon.......

Sorry for being such a slacker the past few months. I've been bouncing around quite a bit and haven't really taken the time to sit down and keep up with my site. I intend to do a much better job going forward!!!

Right now I am in Yangshuo. It is a small town and is definitely my favorite place I have been in China. I just had one of the best days of my trip. Me, my friend Taina (pronounced Tie-na) from Finland (we go way back, met one day prior), and two Chinese couples she befriended rented mountain bikes and a guide and road through the countryside. We passed rice fields, all kinds of little farms, small villages with animals everywhere, and people working the land using water buffalo to plow. There were dozens of women carrying things with a bamboo pole across their shoulders and buckets attached to either end. Side note, I think Chinese women are the hardest working, strongest lbs. for lbs. people on the planet, it is amazing what you see them doing everywhere. We stopped for lunch in a tiny hole in the wall on the Dragon river and ate beer fish and vegetables all of which couldn't have possibly been fresher having been grown and caught right there on the spot.
