Overnighting in a train

SO MUCH FUN!! I think this has been the best experience of my trip so far. I was so giddy and excited that we managed to score a compartment to ourselves that Rob must of thought I accepted some kind of “special brownies”. I don’t know what it was, why I was happy about it. There are 6 beds in a compartment and I chose to sleep in the top bunk (obviously! I was deprived as a child:P). The compartment is warm and but there was a draft up the walls that chilled me even though I was lying in one of those thin sleeping bags. I used my jacket as an additional blankie.

All the goodies you get with your bunk. bottled water, tissues, ear plugs, eye mask. I took them from all the bunks!!

This artist knows! He drew me a 10E sketch and Rob determined that it’s what I would look like if I was caucasian! “It’s you, but it’s not you.”
The eyes weren’t almond shaped, they were japanese anime shaped!
I’ll see if I can upload a pic of it later.

Rob was a real help. He knew how to bargin the guy down from the ridiculously high price of 50E by walking away.

Friday, April 1st, 2005
You know those Tim Horton's commercials where the lone backpacker hears "Hi Canada" and it's because of his Tim Horton's mug? Well, that's sorta how we met Dane. Boarding our train to the Juno Beach Centre, we hear ... [Continue reading this entry]

Versaille

Thursday, March 31st, 2005
Taking the PER train out to Versaille was easy and it's just a 5 minute walk from the station. There are many peddlers just inside the gate hawking versaille/eurodisney wares. Hall of mirrors was very cool, and the Napoleanic furniture very cool! (My ... [Continue reading this entry]

Gorgeous, at the end of a cobblestone road at the top of a hill. Too expensive to go into... You can tell we are getting tired of seeing the touristy things when you actually consider the cost of the entrance ... [Continue reading this entry]
