Last Canopy Service

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

I went to the last service at the Canopy Christian Community today forgetting both my camera and my cell phone so there are no pictures. :( Service was awesomely moving and everyone stayed for a potluck lunch afterwards. They were down to about 20 or so people in the last 4 months or so. Unbelievable considering that there were maybe about 90 people there for the last service.

Both Eric and Jim are still looking for new churches to minister or attend.

Angela, did you send pictures to Eric for the slideshow? Because you and Dustin were in the 5 minute 7 year recap in film slideshow that they had.

So sad, but we are going to be the seeds that scatter and multiply the vision that is the Canopy. (Got that from Jim’s last sermon)

Christmas Charity and Cheer

Charlene and I have put in a couple of hours so far in to your Christmas Elf-ness at Santa’s Anonymous last week. Drop in Christmas present wrapping is Tuesdays, Thrusdays and Saturdays from 9am - 9pm. There are certain rules but common sense is really what it’s all about. The main thing is that you wrap a number of presents into one package instead of individually wrapping pcs. It makes for less wrapping paper waste I think and makes you think more creatively when you wrap! You also help assemble packages too so it’s kinda like shopping. You choose an age group and gender and pick appropriate gifts for that age group/gender There was lots of reminiscing about games we played when we were young while we were “shopping”. I don’t know if I’ll deliver this year but I encourage everyone to either wrap or deliver.
