Well guys the preparations for my journey has begun.

I would first like to thank all of my work colleagues who have donated clothing to such a great cause although Dad is starting to wonder if I'm going to need a shipping container to send it all in! No seriously your efforts are much appreciated.

So far we have packed up 40kgs of clothing (still more to go) and approx 20kgs of toys. I'm sure this will brighten up their little faces!

Other preparations include getting together all that much needed technology, bigger memory cards for the digital, learning how to download all my photos and update my sight to keep you guys up to date with my trip.

I am travelling to South Africa in May 2004 to participate in a volunteer program.

The program is volunteering in an Oprhanage with children who have been affected by AIDS.

I decided to participate in a volunteer program because I don't like just being a tourist. Part of the travelling experience is experiencing other cultures and what better way instead of looking from the outside in.
