May 09, 2005Weather
Woke up this morning in Reno with snow flurries. After a good trip from Grants Pass. 6 Hours leaving at 9 AM and arriving at 3 PM uneventful with a little rain. Called Joseph (grandson) and met him for dinner. At 16 he towers over me and probablly weighs as much. Today we left Circus Circus at 8 AM found a gas station, filled up the truck 20 miles per gallon and the Buick 30 miles per gallon. $73 be glad when I drop off the truck in Colorado Springs. Bea has done very well driving the Buick especially since she has not driven in several years and having driven it once to get her hair done. and stopped in Fallon for breakfast. After breakfast (10 AM) started down highway 50 (Also known as the loneliest highway in the west) Stopped in Eureka, Nv because of off and on snow flurries and we still had 80 miles to Ely,Nv. All day once we met the 7 Highway patrols by the side of the road checking speed in Fallon we passed one or two cars and three passed us. We did meet about two dozen vehicles coming toward us. Checked into the motel at 2:30 280 miles from Reno. Plan to stop in Salina Utah tomorrow. Posted by Craig on May 9, 2005 05:47 PM
