Later KTM!

Oct. 16, 2004

Just want to let everyone know that I’m outta KTM. I’ve been there for a long, long time now and it’s time to see “the other” city in Nepal, Pokhara.

I arrived yesterday and it’s sooo quiet here. KTM is pretty crazy, so compared to there, Pokhara is very relaxing. I was chillin lake side (Pokhara is set right on a lake with some big Himalaya’s RIGHT above) doing what I do best (eating) and my two friends and I were saying how much it feels like Thailand. It’s very touristy (is that a word?), but very mellow and it has everything a westerner could want. That combined with the amazing views that you get no matter where you are make this a pretty special place. The weather is great now, the clearest it’s been all year (so the locals say), so I think I’ll spend my last month in Nepal here (besides my trek). The internet is more expensive here, so I probably won’t check my mail until I get back from my Annapurna trek in a couple of weeks. I’m gonna wear shoes this time, so don’t worry about the ugliest feet on earth. OK, wish me luck and I’ll let you all know how it goes.

Madness!
