Barney Jeffries was conceived in the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and born in Australia. After this promising start, however, he spent the next 20 years growing up in a small village in the south of England. Since then he's studied theatre in Thessaloniki, written a novel in Nuremberg, and done other things in other places which aren't so alliteratively pleasing.

He's currently living in Preveza, a small town in northern Greece closer to Albania than Athens and the subject of this travelblog. As usual, he is sponging off his girlfriend, Rachel, a teacher of English and a saint.
