September 12, 2004Ready? Set? Go!
Figured I should at least write one entry before I go...So I've been on and off at home in Nanaimo for the past little while. I've had to ferry back and forth between Vancouver and Nanaimo going to job interviews and the such. Man, I haven't even sent out a lot of resumes yet and it's starting to get hectic. Welcome to the real world I guess... So, the first day I got back to Nanaimo, I find out that the following day, Brendan Morrison and Trent Klatt (a Vancouver Canuck and ex-Vancouver Canuck for those who aren't hockey fans) are signing autographs at the Lantzville. Now, for those of you who aren't from Nanaimo and live in Vancouver, the Lantzville is pretty much equivalent to Jake's Crossing. I wish I had known before I came over and I would have brought my B-Mo bobblehead over. Oh well, I ended up getting my jersey signed by the two of them. There is a picture of it somewhere, once I get it I'll post it up. Well, I've finally finished packing now, it took a lot longer than I thought it would. I'm sure as soon as I get on the plane I'll remember something vitally important that will be sitting on my dining room table at hope, as long as it's not my plane ticket of passport I should be able to survive. I just finished last night, I was sewing my Canadian Flag on my backpack while watching the Canada Czech game. Too bad this is gonna be the second to last game we're all gonna see for a while. Great game, I'm a little annoyed that I will have to be taking a bus down to Seattle during the final. Let's hope we win. I head out for Japan in just 3 sleeps, that so soon I can't believe it. I'm super psyched. The past couple days I've been checking out some Japanese language sites on-line and I picked up a phrase book from the bookstore. I took some Japanese in elementary and high school, and some of it's actually coming back. However my communication skills will still be substantially lacking and I'll be relying on English a fair bit. Even so, it'll still be neat to try and put to use what I learnt here. Well, I better get going, I still have a ton of stuff to do in the next two days. I'll try to update as much as possible, part of it will depend on access to internet while I'm over there. If Erik is nice, and lets me use some of his digital camera pictures, then I'll post pictures as well. As I mentioned in my e-mail, if you want to send your address to my hotmail account, I'll try to send a postcard or two. Comments
Yea....Mattie told me about this little meeting with B-Mo and Klatt and that totally kicks ass. I'm so jealous. No B-Mo until the damn NHLPA gets their act in gear....or a new president or something. You should go to swedin to watch half the nucks play! Anyways, I hope you haven't washed your hand after shaking theirs. Posted by: Nikki on September 22, 2004 08:25 AM |
