WAOUW!!!!
The morning after, I pulled open the curtains and there it was: Tahiti. I have heard of these islands since I was born and never in a million years did I hope I would make it there. It was so overwhelming! We checked out the hotel and waited for the “truck” (tahitian bus) to take us to the ferry port. The buses are very colourful, with music playing really loudly. The seats are just 3 benches placed in the length of the bus, very basic. They also have a very low ceiling meaning that it was a bit difficult to get in. But it is all part of the experience. It was strange to hear french spoken everywhere. We arrived at the last stop on Boulevard Pomare and walked for about 5 minutes to get to the ferry terminal. Once there we bought two tickets to Moorea on the Aremiti ferry. You can choose the quick crossing (1 hour) or the fast catamaran (30 mins). We just got on the first one, the one-hour crossing on the conventional ferry. I was like a 6-year old kid at Chrismas. I did not know where to look. At the ferry terminal in Moorea, the only hourly-bus waits for you. You just need to tell the driver where you are going and he will stop. After 40 minutes we arrived at Moorea Camping.
