January 18, 2005Solitude and Company combined in Tartu
For the first time this year, I finally feel I'm in a climate that one can call 'Winter'. Walking through small patches of woods while the snow and ice crunches underfoot, this sleepy town is a nice break from the more touristy Tallinn. On the other hand, in the lively student pub Zavood where I was last night, I was anything but alone. I was accompanied by housemates of my Hospitality Club host, who lives in a 10 (yes TEN) person household - all students - along with Ben, another guest, but from New Zealand, who has just finished travelling through (South) East Asia and Russia and is on his way around Europe. Today we'll walk around the small town some more and tomorrow there is a road trip planned to NorthEastern Estonia with my host, one of her housemates, Ben and I, with plans to return in the evening. I will most likely make my way to Riga on Thursday. Comments
