Where are my Ear Plugs?

Written a few days ago and just now posting…

I seem to have misplaced my reliable ear plugs that I have used very often throughout my adventures.  Last night I took my second night train from Basel to Rome.  This time I was placed in a small cubby with 4 men and I was on the top of 3 beds.  There is so little room you cannot even lift your head without banging the ceiling of the small cubby you sleep in.  I was just about to fall asleep when the snoring began.  The old man on the bottom bunk was snoring so loud I could barely think.  It went on and on and became louder and louder.  After going out into the hall and realizing I could hear him all the way down the train car, I asked for another bed.  But supposedly they were all full.  After stumbling to find my nonexistent ear plugs I tried to mumble things extra loud to wake the old man, but no luck.  It seems when those fellas are asleep, they are dead asleep.  So needless to say the night was a bit miserable.  But I made it to Rome!

And what a successful day.  The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Pantheon.

And already I have eaten pizza, pasta, gilato, and had a helping of wine.  Off to a good Italian start.
