Spectacular Paris
Paris was truly wonderful. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.
I couchsurfed with a nice guy named Norbert. I know, silly name but he was such a kind gentleman. The first night he cooked me quiche and the third night he made me cheese fondue. I made him branch out…instead of just bread and cheese I cooked up some meat and chopped up some veggies. They do not do this in Europe with fondue!!! Only bread and cheese. I do not think the Americans would go for this. Such a humble person who enjoyed having me.
I saw and did everything I could in the 31/2 days I was in Paris. Unfortunately, the weather was a little crummy so I did not partake in the bike tour that I wanted….but next time! And when I return, I will spend an evening in the Cabaret area of town, Montmartre. I can only imagine how wonderful Paris is in the Spring/Summer time.
I am now in Brugge, Belgium and it is totally at the top of my list! Another small town with a hopping market square, tasty pubs full of delicious beer that gets you tipsy after one glass, colorful shops, cobblestone streets, and chocolate shops with the best chocolate I have ever tasted in my entire life. But I have yet to eat a Belgium waffle.
Ok, the city is calling me for dinner. Will write more hopefully before I return to the States.
