In which I choose food over the blog

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Empty fridge that's not mine, but close (courtesy Lucy Librarian at flickr’s Creative Commons)It was a great weekend covering the Samsung 500 NASCAR race weekend for Motorsport.com, but reality has set in.

Someone must get to the grocery store and take care of household matters.

Sainted Husband is a teacher at the end of a grading/marking period, with statewide academic standards testing looming ahead.

You know what that means; a lot of papers and extra work to do.

Since I was at drag strip one weekend and the race track the next, domestic duties cry out for attention (not that I’m very domestic at all, but the kids DO need to eat, I suppose.)

So, I’m going to unplug a bit for today and “get a life,” if only temporarily.

Back tomorrow!

More need for speed

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Tire lug nut preps at NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 race, Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Charlotte NC (Scarborough photo)Wasn’t I just leaving for the racetrack a couple of days ago?

Well, yes.

Now, however, I’m headed from drag racing to stock car racing/NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, particularly the Samsung 500 on Sunday.

I’ll be covering the race weekend for Motorsport.com and the Fast Machines motorsports blog.

Back to the Family Travel blog on Monday.
