Wait and wait some more

Well so much for my super awesome score on an almost direct flight to Phnom Penh. We left 45 minutes late from Anchorage and for some reason arrived in Taipei Taiwan 2 hours late. So instead of a 1 to 2 hour layover in Taipei, I now have a 5 hour layover here and another 4 hours in Bangkok. It’s a good thing I am short on responsibilities at the moment.

On a good note, this will allow me to at least check out the Taipei airport. I would have preferred an overnighter to check out the city though.

OK I’m done seeing the terminal. Blah! I’m hungry and dehydrated. Need to eat. I did get a meal voucher. Wish me luck as it might be a lot of finger pointing and hoping that I don’t go over my limit.

O.K. I finally made it to Bangkok Thailand. It was a pleasant 3+ hours flight. Then it was what seemed like a 2 mile walk to the Bangkok Airlines counter to get onto their system for the flight to Phnom Penh. Luckily there was a gal from China Airlines to escort us there. A group that didn’t see the sign met up with us later and complained about walking all over the place trying to find this particular counter.

I might not be making much sense now, but it’s 2AM Alaska time. I’m hanging out in this super plush lounge. It looks like something out of a modern home furnishings catalog. You know what I’m trying to say, I just can’t think of the name. Anyways, free internet, snacks, and water. I’m fading fast. I’d better get some sugar into me.

Hurry up and wait …isn’t that always true!nrSomehow I thought I would be alerted when your blog was updated….but now I guess I have to be responsible and check it frequently…maybe I’ll just use it as my home page :) Here’s hoping the next flights go smoother :)

    Sup bro,

Looks like you almost there. It must be pretty exciting to finally going back home? I was just wondering since you’re going to Phnom Penh, there must be many mountains, right? I think that’s what it translates to in english?

That’s what I thought too initially, but apparently phnom can mean hill also. Cambodia is fairly flat with the tallest peak being around 3000 meters. So there’s a hill here, but not mountains.
