SE Asia: Bangkok
The last few weeks in Sydney seemed a blur of shopping, packing, goodbyes and trying to watch as many Grey’s Anatomy episodes as possible (I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, but ohmygod Meredith??!!). In the midst of all that I somehow managed to get myself organised and on the plane, arriving in Bangkok late last night, to the delight of the taxi touts at the airport, just hanging out for a naieve, tired Aussie girl to come stumbling bleary-eyed across their path.
Ok, I know you’re supposed to find the metered taxis, and I’m absoloutly sure I was ripped off. But it was at least 3am Sydney-timeĀ and equivalent to the cost of an airport taxi in Sydney, so I thought of it as kind of an advance payment on my Karma for this trip, and Buddha and I called it even.

As long as you got where you wanted then i’m proud of you! Its very twenty one. I would still be sitting at the airport wondering what to do next. Just remember to keep spelling (it’ll get you through, trust me) and also… makeitlikeasaladbar-beansaladbean.

Darling
So glad you arrived safe and sound, good to hear you have been ripped off early in the trip, now you can relax and learn to barter your fares like everyone else.
Lots of love

Dearest Sarah
It was really good to hear from you …as your ‘daddy’, I am already missing you. I’m sure that you will have many adventures in front of you but getting ‘ripped off’ I’m affraid is a permanent overseas past time. I have been to Bankok many times and I reckon that apart from a bit of culture, the best part is leaving!!
You have many great and wonderful times ahead of you but as a father, I must say please look after yourself and have a great time!!!
lots of love (lol)

Glad to hear that you got there safe. You are so going to get ripped off in all your adventures….but I’m sure it happens to the best of us. Hope you enjoy your Asia tour and have fun with your tour group. I bet there will be an annoying person…there’s one in every group.
Take care miss you already…Talisha has been asking Daddy to go on a big plane….now we have to save.
