The Wedding

First dance

Chloe Writes: Sorry we have missed out the last couple of weeks on the blog but I will quickly fill you in. The first week after we left our friends Jim and Alex we went to Koh Sok national park where I came down with the flu so not much to report there as I could barely get out of bed. We then had to hot foot it to Ranong (with me still ill) where we caught a boat over to Burma to renew our visas. We then returned to Samui for a few more days with Jim & Alex and lots of wedding bits to sort out. I then booked my-self into a spa for 9 days for some relaxation and a 7 day detox and Pete did his diving padi in Koh Tao. We then booked into the resort where we were to stay for the wedding and waited for everyone to arrive.

My Hen do started off with a Thai cooking course in a very plush resort in the north of the island. (I’ll have some more photos with the wedding pics at a later date). We cooked chicken green curry, Pad Thai and a seafood salad. The food was fantastic, and we ate far too much. Whether I could cook the dishes again I’m not sure but had a really fun day and graduated with a certificate. The evening started out with shopping in Chawang, dinner in a Japanese restaurant (sushi is still my favorite food) and on to a Cristy’s night club for a lady boy show, which was fantastic. We accidentally met up with the boys at a bar for a dance, the back to the resort for a swim. Needless to say it was a very messy night but we all had lots of fun.

Mr and Mrs Cann

The wedding was fantastic, it couldn’t have been in a nicer setting. With only the odd minor hitch (I got some make-up on my dress 20 mins before the ceremony – I couldn’t believe it). After all the stress of organizing it, I enjoyed being pampered on the day with my bridesmaids and when it came to walking down the isle I was very excited. With 20 guests the ceremony had a very intimate and relaxed feel, we also performed a sand ceremony (you’ll have to look at the pics for this one). After the toasts and pictures, Pete and I planted a tree, raised a flag and drank cocktails from a pineapple.

After a beautiful 5 course Thai meal and Thai dancing we all congregated on the beach to let of the fire lanterns and fireworks. After months of organizing it all came together and was a truly fantastic day. Most certainly the best day of our lives.

We rushed these photos together to show you all but will have lots more photos on the internet soon and will let you know where to find them.

The rings

Pete Writes: So after 5 months of virtually solitude and each others company, it was time for a sudden serge of family and Friends. It was absolutely amazing to see everyone after such along time, it felt as if we were never apart :)

On my stag day me and the 5 lads decided that we would head out onto the water for a bit of fishing. After putting a 100 Baht wager on who would catch the biggest, and 3 slabs of lager we ready to hit the sea.

It did not take long for the guys to start catching fish, and by lunch time the only thing that I had caught was the sun (not as much as Dad and Gary, who both ended up looking like lobsters!) Myself and Luke were the only 2 who had not caught a thing and I was beginning to sweat…. Then all of a sudden I thought I had a bite, I began to real in the line playing a bit with the fish, it felt like I had landed a big un…… Unfortunately once I hoisted it out of the water I realized I had done my part towards cleaning up the sea, I caught a blooming blue plastic bag :( I did eventually catch a fish, although by this time the other guys had caught double figures…. luckily we shared the catch for lunch, otherwise I would of gone hungry :) After we hot footed it back to the resort we just had enough time for a Sh!t,Shower and Shave. We then set off out for a full on Brazilian BBQ fest.. and more beer :) The night turned into a drunken haze, so I cant remember much of it.. I do however remember that we bumped into the Hen party and the night got even more hazy :o)

Cake

I woke up as fresh as a daisy on the wedding day, knowing that today was going to be a GOOD day. I met everyone for breakfast, making sure I did not set eyes on Chloe (I had eyes and ears everywhere, and it was code Chloe when she was in sight!!!) I then had a last minute panic about the speech, only natural I suppose (although when it came to the speech’s I was well oiled so it went without a problem) The ceremony started with a drum procession, followed by Thai dancing (which we got slightly hot as the sun came down on us). Once we all seated and I was standing at the arch it was time for Chloe to make her entrance (if I say I didn’t choke up, I would be lying - Chloe looked stunning just like a princess) The rest of the evening flew by, with our own paparazzi (It made me feel famous). I know that we have put a lot of photos up, but it is hard to explain the day in words! It was truly the best day of my life :)

Now we are planning to head of to a real paradise island to spend a few days in a tent (there is no buildings, roads or even electric PARADISE!)

We promise to update the rest of the photos shortly

    Thanks for all your comments,

It really was the wedding of our dreams, and a day we always remember too, we can’t of wished for anything more.

It was really sad to see everyone leave, the whole week was memorable. It’s back to reality now and back to the serious stuff of travelling (well sort of).

    Love to you all.

    Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Cann!

Chloe, you look like an absolute princess, and as for your wedding dress, just stunning!!

Well done to both of you. Your wedding looked just magical. I’m just gutted we couldn’t have been there to share your special day.

I have to confess, I’ve got a big of catching up on your blog to do, so I’m going to toodle off now and read some of your exciting tales.

Miss you both here in England - ps we had a little snow today! xx

  7. peteandchloe Says:

    Thanks Laura,

I felt like a princess for the day, but it’s probably the one day in my life where i’m allowed. You and Rupert were definitley missed.

Cant believe you had snow, England feels like a world away since I nearly got burnt on the back of a moped today.

    Anyway, lots of love,

    Chloe xx
