The last stop on my South American Journey!

I have come and gone from Quito…..twice!  First time before I went to Colombia and the second time after Colombia (My final departure city from South America was out of Quito).

Quito, Ecuador is the second largest city and is the capital of Ecuador (Guayaquail is the largest city and it lays SouthWest of Quito).  Quito is 22km from the equator and is at an elevation of 2850m above sea level.  The city lays on the Andean Mountain range….and the way the city of Quito surrounds the mountains, reminds me of a coliseum. The city begins in the center and gradually continues in a circular pattern around the mountains. [read on]
