Chomping at the bit
Like I said on my first South America travel journal every New Yorker - no matter how much they love the city - for whatever reason needs to escape every once in a while. A combination of circumstance and personal taste has led me to a loose itinerary - and with traveling, the looser the itinerary the better: Into Rome, out of Paris a month later. One day spent back in New York, then into Sao Paulo, out of Lima seven weeks later. It took me until right now to realize that’s pretty much the world romance language tour already. Hey, maybe I’ll get to Romania or Catalonia also.
But before I even set out on this 3 months extravaganza, I couldn’t help but start to exercise that touristy part of the brain a little. While I intend to do quite a bit of more guerilla-style urban adventuring (Catacombs in Naples and Bridge Climbing in Buenos Aires are already on the to-do list), I’m also excited about just wandering around cities seeing what I can find. I got a little head start in a couple domestic cities right before I left: San Francisco, where I was visiting relatives for a week, and of course right here in New York City.
