It`s been a while

Even though that title brings to mind that Staind song that I now feel slightly ashamed that I liked, I felt it was fitting. My last post was over 20 days ago. It´s possible that many of you reading this blog and following my (intestinal) adventures thought I had been kidnapped, or worse, not been kidnapped and was just too cheap to pay for internet. Well, I have wanted to write and have been composing blogs in my head (all hilarious, all forgotten), but travelling with Sarah, Phil and Anikah has proven to be a bit different than I anticipated. But good! I swear! Really good! And Sarah isn´t making me say that by kicking me under the internet desk. No, I do like travelling with baby, but it is definitely a different pace than by myself. And by ”different,” I mean ‘’slower.” A biology lesson for those of you who studied the softer of sciences: babies are smaller than adults. At least… 2 times smaller. Which means they walk slower. Except when they’re heading towards something they shouldn´t be, in which case they move at the speed of a greyhound chasing a mechanical rabbit. But Anikah makes up for the slow thing by being so freaking cute it´s unbelievable. Example: the other night we were eating pizza at this place called Pizzeria Lilliana, this amazing Italian place in San Vito, and Ani was happily munching away when Sarah fed her an olive by itself. Ani started chewing and immediately gave the rest of the pizza this ”what the &%$· have you done to me?” type of look. She finally swallowed, but the look stayed, and I was laughing so hard I almost peed. Moral: babies are worth it. Tell that to all those teen mothers.
Anyway, since my last post, here´s the outline of where I´ve been: in Costa Rica. More specific you say? Well, okay. But I don’t want to have one really long post, so I’ll tease you with the (slightly boring) outline now and fill in later.
After Quepos, I went to Manuel Antonio — town and national park with the same name — then on to spend more time at the farm with Sue. I was farmin’ it for another week and then headed back to Alajuela to pick up Sarah, Phil and Anikah at the airport. We stayed at Cortez Azul a couple of nights, headed to Quepos/Manuel Antonio, were there for three nights at Hotel Vista Serena, then made our way down the coast, staying for a night in Dominical and then Christmas in Uvita. From Uvita we went back up through Dominical to San Isidro, watched the Costa Rican yearly road bike race pass through, visited Sue, and then headed down toward Panama to San Vito. Back up to San Isidro after a couple of days gorging ourselves at the bakery in San Vito, spent the night again and then took the bus to San Jose for the end of dos mil seis. And that was yesterday; Happy New Year!

I miss travelling with you… if we aren’t paying two mortgages by March, I’ll use my work money for another plane ticket instead of another tattoo!!!
